Witnessing Guide: Learn Jesus. Make Him Known.

"This guide equips you to share the gospel with love, charity, and boldness."
Key verse: Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; 1 Peter 3:15

Section 1: Know Jesus Personally

Teaching:

Before you can tell others, you must know Him.
  • Study the Word: John 1:1, John14:6
  • Pray for revelation: Ephesians 1:17-18
  • Walk with Him daily: John 15:4-5

Jesus is the Son of God (John 3:16)
He is the Word made flesh (John 1:14)
He is Savior and Lord, the only way to the Father (John 14:6)
He is both fully God and fully man (Philippians 2:5-11)
If you don't believe and understand this, your witness will lack conviction.

Reflection Question:

How do you stay connected to Jesus daily?

Application:

Keep a daily habit of prayer and Bible reading. If you don't stay close to Jesus, your witness will lack power.

Section 2: Understand the Gospel

Teaching:

The Gospel is simple and power:
  1. God loves us (John 3:16)
  2. We are all sinners (Romans 3:23)
  3. Jesus died for our sins (Romans 5:8)
  4. He rose again (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
  5. Salvation is a gift received by faith (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Understand What Jesus Did

He came to save us from sin (Matthew 1:21)
He lived a perfect, sinless life (Hebrews 4:15)
He died on the cross for our sins (1 Corinthians 15:3)
He rose again with all power (Matthew 28:6)
He ascended and now intercedes for us (Romans 8:34)

The Gospel is the heart of your witness (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)

Reflection Question:

Which of these 5 truths is hardest for people you know to believe?

Application:

Memorize these 5 points and be ready to share them.

Section 3: Share Your Story

Teaching:

Your testimony has power.
  • Before Christ > Who you were (Acts 26:4-11)
  • Encounter with Christ > How He saved you (Acts 26:12-18)
  • After Christ > How He changed you (Acts 26:19-23)

Reflection Question:

Write your testimony in 3-5 minutes. Can you share it clearly?

Application:

Practice telling your story with someone you trust. People may doubt your words, but they can't deny a transformed life.

Section 4: Learn to Share Simply

Teaching:

Witnessing is conversation, not a sermon.
  • Ask questions: "Do you believe in God?"
  • Share truth: "Jesus said He is the Way" (John 14:6)
  • Invite: "Would you like to receive Him as Lord and Savior?"

Sample Conversation:

You: "Can I share something that changed my life?"
Them: "Sure."
You: "I used to struggle with [fear, sin, hopelessness]. But I came to know Jesus. He forgave me and gave me peace. the Bible says, 'For God so loved the world...' (John 3:16). Would you like to receive Him today?"

Reflection Question:

What keeps you from inviting others to Christ?

Tip: Keep a Bible (or app) ready to show verses.

Section 5: Live as a Witness

Teaching:

Your lifestyle either confirms or contradicts your words.
  • Be a light (Matthew 5:16)
  • Walk in love (John 13:34-35)
  • Live holy (1 Peter 1:15-16)

Reflection Question:

What part of your lifestyle reflects Christ? What part needs change?

Tip: Consistency gives credibility to your witness.

Section 6: Rely on the Holy Spirit

Teaching:

We don't witness in our own strength.
  • Pray for boldness (Acts 4:29)
  • Be Spirit-led (Acts 8:29)
  • Trust God for results (1 Corinthians 3:6-7)

Reflection Question:

How has the Holy Spirit ever nudged you to speak to someone?

Application:

Pray each morning: "Holy Spirit, use me to point someone to Jesus today."

Tip: Don't stress about saving people - your jobs is to share, God's job is to save.

Section 7: Practice & Go

Teaching:

The best way to learn is to do it.
  • Start with family/friends.
  • Pray for opportunities daily.
  • Go out two by two (Luke 10:1).

Weekly Challenge:

Share the gospel with at least one person this week.

Tip: Even a simple "Jesus loves you" can open the door.
