Keep Serving In Your Assignment

Mar 16, 2025    Pastor Keinon Washington

In this powerful message, we're challenged to keep serving in our assignments, even when faced with hardship or lack. The story of Elijah and the widow of Zarephath from 1 Kings 17 takes center stage, reminding us that obedience to God's commands often requires sacrifice. Just as the widow was asked to give her last meal to the prophet, we too are called to trust God's provision when He asks us to give. This lesson beautifully illustrates how our blessings are tied to our obedience, and that God often tests our faith through seemingly impossible requests. The parallel drawn between the ravens feeding Elijah and our own acts of service is particularly striking, showing that even nature obeys God's commands. We're encouraged to look beyond our immediate circumstances and trust in God's multiplication, just as the widow's flour and oil never ran out. This message challenges us to examine our hearts, confront our complaints, and renew our commitment to serving God wholeheartedly, knowing that He will provide for our needs as we faithfully carry out His will.
