The Illuminating Light of The Gospel

Jan 12, 2025    Elder Lovell Washington

In this powerful message, we're reminded of the illuminating power of the Gospel and our role as bearers of Christ's light. The central theme revolves around 2 Corinthians 4:3-6, where Paul speaks about the 'light of the gospel of the glory of Christ.' We're challenged to consider: Are we truly shining this light in a world of spiritual darkness? The sermon draws a striking parallel between physical blindness and spiritual blindness, emphasizing how we, as believers, are called to be 'cities set on a hill' (Matthew 5:14-16). This imagery invites us to reflect on our own lives - are we hiding our light or letting it shine brightly for others? The message urges us to move beyond simply receiving the Gospel to actively sharing it, reminding us that we were 'called out of darkness into His marvelous light' (1 Peter 2:9). As we ponder these words, let's ask ourselves: How can we illuminate the path for others in our daily lives, workplaces, and communities?
